Biography

Kennedy was born at Westmead Hospital in New South Wales. She was the first baby for her mum and dad but soon her family expanded with the arrival of four more siblings.

Kennedy was outgoing, energetic and happy as a child. She loved the beach, family meals, going to the movies, shopping and watching television. Together with her Maori family, Kennedy followed the New Zealand Warriors.

At eight years old, Kennedy faced a big hurdle, open heart surgery. Her positive attitude, family support and medical team ensured she bounced back from this quickly. Two years later Kennedy started her Rugby League journey, at the Rockingham Sharks in Perth, Western Australia.

Once Kennedy started playing Rugby League, she developed a true passion for the game and also realised she had great skills! Her mum and dad took her to training and games and supported her increasing commitment to the game.

In 2020 it was the moment Kennedy had dreamed of; she made her NRL debut! Her family supported her at the game and they all cried happy tears. They continued to celebrate her other career highlights including her NRL Rookie of the Year 2020 award, her Maori All Stars debut and her Jillaroos debut.

Being an ambassador of league is extremely important for Kennedy, she loves being an advocate for the female game, volunteering at Junior Clubs and fundraising for community events.
