To celebrate the upcoming Festival of Indigenous Rugby League, today the Canberra Raiders invited their Youth summit representatives Riley Weeks, Joshua Standingford, Meah Murray & Tjanara Flick-Booth to come along and meet their NRL idols Jack Wighton, Aidan Sezer, Iosia Soliola & Sebastian Kris at Raiders HQ.
The students were presented with their club polos that will represent the Canberra Raiders at the weeklong Festival of Indigenous Rugby League, located this year in Redfern.
The Festival of Indigenous Rugby League youth summit will bring together 68 Indigenous students across all NRL clubs to participate in leadership workshops and self-development activities. Riley, Joshua, Meah & Tjanara, have been selected from the NRL School to Work program to represent their schools, communityand family at the upcoming celebrations.
The Canberra Raiders, the Australian Federal Government and the NRL are committed to Closing the Gap in Indigenous employment and education outcomes and have invested heavily into supporting the NRL School to Work program, and creating significant and real change within Indigenous communities.
