Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs halfback Kieran Foran has added his name to the unwanted list of worst kicks at goal of all time.

Attempting to convert a Josh Morris try versus the Rabbitohs in the first half at ANZ Stadium, the No.7 inexplicably sent his effort under the crossbar from point-blank range.

Foran was directly in front of the posts, with his frustrated reaction seconds later telling the story.

The Kiwi international later redeemed himself when he comfortably slotted a penalty goal on the verge of half-time from the same position.

Foran actually landed a conversion from the sideline in the early stages of the match when he added the extras following Morris's first try.

He isn't the first player to muck up a simple attempt at the posts.

Illawarra Steelers centre Shaun Timmins missed a clanger from next to the posts which would have won the game against the Bears at North Sydney Oval in 1997 but instead meant the match finished in an 18-18 draw.

Laurie Daley botched a penalty goal attempt from right in front as a NSW rookie at Lang Park in 1989 and never kicked again at State of Origin level.

Knights centre Adrian Brunker also earned an unwanted place in the pantheon of poor kicks when he missed a goal in the dying stages of a clash with Manly which resulted in a 16-14 loss to the home side in Newcastle instead of a draw.
