South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Sam Burgess will risk a two-game ban in a bid to have a grade one dangerous contact charge, which would free him up to face the Dragons this Friday.
Burgess was cited for dangerous contact – head/neck (grade one) for a 57th minute incident in which he appeared to raise a forearm as he carried the ball into a Josh Morris tackle.
The charge would normally allow him to play the following week with an early plea but having already taken the early plea to a round two dangerous contact charge (grade one) on Penrith's Reagan Campbell-Gillard, loading and carry-over points mean Burgess would now miss a game with an early plea and two games for an unsuccessful challenge.
