Injured Sydney Roosters duo Latrell Mitchell and Dylan Napa remain in line for selection for Origin II after undergoing extensive medical assessments on Saturday.
Mitchell, who turned 21 on Saturday, injured his neck early in the second half of Friday's 32-6 win over Penrith and played no further part in the match.
The good news is that the injury is not serious. Mitchell has been diagnosed with a ligament strain and will be crossing his fingers he is passed fit for the second State of Origin clash on June 24 in Sydney.
Mitchell is expected to be an automatic selection when the NSW team is named on Sunday night and will be monitored by Blues medical staff during the week-long training camp.
Napa also received positive feedback about the ankle injury that forced him to limp from the field in the first half against the Panthers, with Roosters medical staff confirming he had suffered minor ligament damage.
The diagnosis would have been a big relief for Queensland coach Kevin Walters, who is sure to want Napa in his side to face the Blues in game two after NSW prevailed 22-12 in game one of the annual best of three series.
In more good news for the Roosters, experienced utility back Blake Ferguson has been cleared of serious injury after leaving the field late in Friday's game.
