Valentine Holmes scores for Queensland.

Here are the key moments from Holden State of Origin game three between NSW and Queensland at Suncorp Stadium.

3rd minute: A deft kick from Maroons halfback Daly Cherry-Evans is collected by Billy Slater who scores next to the posts. The fullback is correctly denied by the NRL Bunker the dream start in his farewell appearance due to a knock-on.

10th minute: Maroons winger Valentine Holmes intercepts a pass from James Tedesco and streaks 90 metres to score his seventh try in five Origin appearances. The flyer then slots the conversion to make it Queensland 6-0.

23rd minute: Cherry-Evans forces a third drop-out from NSW after a clever kick close to the line. Despite repeat sets, the Maroons can't crack the Blues, whose defence is sensational.

30th minute: James Maloney is sent to the sin bin by referee Gerard Sutton for a professional foul on Slater. It followed the Blues pivot impeding the Maroons No.1, who was chasing a Cameron Munster grubber. Holmes slots the eventual penalty moments later. Queensland 8-0.

36th minute: Tom Trbojevic cuts the margin to four points after collecting a cut-out pass from Munster. The Blues winger then glided his way to the line, with Nathan Cleary adding the extras. Queensland 8-6.

39th minute: NSW incredibly take the lead seconds from halftime with back-to-back tries. Damien Cook fed Tedesco who strolled over untouched. Despite 30% of the ball and Maloney in the sin bin, NSW performed remarkably well to be in front 12-8 at the break.
