Where do Roosters keep 2013 premiership jerseys?

One player wanted to keep his premiership jersey and ring so secure he had his parents, who live interstate, store it in their home safe.

Another still harbours so much affection for his premiership ring, he sleeps with it every night on his bedside table.

The Sydney Roosters last won the Telstra Premiership in 2013.

Five years on, there are five players remaining from that line-up: Boyd Cordner, Jake Friend, Mitch Aubusson, Daniel Tupou and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.

Cordner and Friend are now the co-captains – Anthony Minichiello held the honour in 2013 – but the current crop also appear to be the most cautious with such distinct memorabilia.

"My jersey is in Mum and Dad’s safe up in Noosa. The ring is in there too – I gave them both to Mum and Dad to put away," Friend told pan66.com.

"I didn’t want the risk of losing either of them with me."

Cordner is also wary of theft, or at least of telling too many people where the precious cargo resides.

"The jersey is hanging in my cupboard. I’ve got the ring with me – I’ll keep it safe, I know where it is,” said the Old Bar Pirates junior, not wishing to divulge any more details.

"It’s priceless. You can’t buy that kind of thing. It’s why you play the game. I’m getting emotional just talking about it."

So we'll leave it there, and move onto the carefree attitude of Waerea-Hargreaves.

"My ring is on my bedside table – still – after five years," he said.

"I moved house recently and it was the first thing I packed and then unpacked, putting it back beside me on my new bedside table."

The premiership jersey is certainly significant but Waerea-Hargreaves can't separate it from some of the other big games of his career.

"My jersey is in a special box where I’ve put my very special jerseys in over the years," the 29-year-old Rotorua native said.

"It’s there with my debut jersey, my first Kiwis jersey … all very emotional."

Aubusson is waiting for the right time to give his 2013 jersey the prominence it deserves.

"Mine is at home with my family. I won't frame it just yet. That's probably something I'll do when I finish my career," he told pan66.com.

"For the moment it's tucked away nice and safe.

"But every now and then I pull it out and have a look at it – sometimes even put it on for a brief bit."

Tupou is not ashamed to admit his very sentimental attachment to his premiership ring.

"My jersey is still at home – in the presentation box they gave to us – waiting to be framed," the winger said, who scored the Roosters' opening try in the 2013 decider against Manly.

"It’s still in my room but I gave the ring to my mum as a gift, straight after the grand final.

"I wanted to thank her for all the times she ran me to training, took me to games, all the sacrifices she made. She deserved that ring and she wears it a lot. Hopefully I can get another one this weekend for my dad."
