The NRL's Youth Advocate program is all about empowering young people to create positive change.

There are 40 young people in the program and they have received a helping hand from the NSW government in ensuring their social impact ideas come to life.

Member for Parramatta, Geoff Lee, and Minister for Multiculturalism and Minister for Disability Services, Ray Williams, have announced the NRL will receive $50,000 to support this initiative across Parramatta and Sydney.

NRL Head of Government and Community Relations, Jaymes Boland-Rudder said the funding will allow the ideas of our youth leaders to flourish.

"The young people selected for this program have already demonstrated strong leadership skills and ideas to create positive changes in their community," Boland-Rudder said.

"We will equip them with the skills and knowledge to deliver on their ideas."

"I am delighted local young people will benefit from this youth-led project which will keep them engaged in the community," he said.

"Youth opportunities empower young people to make new social connections, undertake new activities and give back to the community."

Williams, who is the Minister responsible for Youth also announced more than $1.4 million would be given to 35 organisations across NSW, while the New Age Noise project will receive $49,524.

"NSW currently has the lowest youth unemployment rate of any state," Williams said.

"Youth Opportunities will give thousands of young people across NSW the confidence and drive to reach their potential."
