The Titans have strengthened their forward pack and playmaking depth in 2019, with Shannon Boyd joining an already strong group of middle forwards and Tyrone Peachey, Tyrone Roberts and Ryley Jacks providing options in the halves.
There are plenty of reasons to believe the Gold Coast can push for a finals spot this year, and here are three players to look out for when selecting your Fantasy squad.
AJ Brimson
One of the real success stories of the Gold Coast's 2018 season, Brimson spent most of the season at five-eighth before making a huge impact at full-back in the final month of the campaign.
His Fantasy average jumped from a decent 37 to an excellent 50 points a game when he switched to the back, and he's the front-runner to start the new year in the No.1 jersey at the Titans, especially with the returning Tyrone Roberts and super utility Tyrone Peachey providing more options for the pivot role.
With a break even of 40, Brimson's capable of being a borderline keeper if he can match his 2018 efforts – which, granted, did include four tries in four games and a few try-saving tackles.
Tyrone Peachey
He's a star recruit and an incumbent in Brad Fittler's successful NSW Origin side, so it's strange to think Tyrone Peachey still doesn't have a clear position on a footy team.
Last season at Penrith he played seven games at centre, eight at five-eighth, four at fullback and three off the interchange.
His 2019 prospects will largely depend on what role he ends up with at the Titans – he scored just 28 points a game at centre in 2018, almost 44 points a game at fullback, and in the mid-30s in the halves or the bench.
Jai Arrow
A year after Jarrod Wallace left Brisbane for the Gold Coast and played his way into a Queensland Origin jersey, Arrow did the same last year while quickly becoming an elite Fantasy scorer.
The hard-working lock was flying along at better than 55 points a game until an injury at the end of the Origin series stopped him in his tracks, with his minutes dropping from around 55-65 down to 45 points a game in the run home.
With a break even of 50, he'll be a good value gun if he gets back to his usual mid-50s numbers.
