Dane Gagai insists he remains in the dark over whether Greg Inglis will remain at his preferred right centre spot for Thursday night's clash against St George Illawarra in Kogarah.
Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett opted for the switch ahead of the side's 26-16 win over the Roosters in round one, with Inglis's mission to contain Latrell Mitchell sending Gagai onto the wing.
Inglis marked rising centre Euan Aitken on the left edge of defence in the side's corresponding games against the Dragons last season, but Gagai couldn't confirm if Inglis would go back to the left side.
"I'm not sure, that's Wayne's call," Gagai said on Monday.
"For now that's where he sees it's best for the team and I'll keep working with GI on that edge.
"Greg did a great job marking Latrell Mitchell. His aggression rubs off on the group.
"I'd love to get back in the centres but if my job is to be on the wing I'm going to do that to the best of my ability and try help out best."
Match Highlights: Roosters v Rabbitohs
While the focus has turned to Thursday's clash, the aftermath of last Friday night's fiery battle at the SCG continued to linger for the Bunnies.
Former Rabbitoh Luke Keary labelled his former teammate Cody Walker as "disrespectful" following the game as tensioned boiled over on the paddock throughout the clash.
"I didn't think too much of it, it's a game of footy," Gagai said.
"I'm the type of player whatever happens on the field stays on the field. I'm sure people saw me and Latrell going at it but we shook hands and are good mates after the game.
"Everyone's entitled to an opinion. I don't know what was said between the two but it's a game of footy and they're both competitive athletes. I think frustration can play on that.
"It wasn't about talk on the field, it's a few little things that just happen throughout a game. You don't go out there and have a plan to disrupt a person.
"Sports competitive and people want to win. Frustration can kick in and certain things happen that can flare something but in the end no one was injured and nothing come from it."
The Bunnies were forced to train in Daceyville on Monday with Redfern Oval feeling the effects of Sydney's heavy rain on the weekend following a Canterbury Cup NSW game played there on Sunday.
