Stat of Origin: Queensland Maroons by the numbers

The stats snapshot for the Queensland Maroons heading into the opening game of the 2019 Holden State of Origin series.

1 – Number of times the Maroons have lost the penalty count in the past 8 games at Suncorp Stadium.

3 – Number of Queenslanders making their Origin debut – Moses Mbye, David Fifita and Joe Ofahengaue.

4 – Number of goal-kickers Queensland will use in three series' – following the departure of Valentine Holmes leaving the NRL. This is their largest turnover since the 2002-2004 series consecutive losses where they used 7 goal kickers in 9 games.

8 – Where Dane Gagai is ranked after 10 games for the Maroons, on the all-time Origin try scoring leader board with 9 tries scored.

20 – 2019 will be the first time Queensland has not featured a player with this number of Origin games experience since game 2, 2014.

46 – Queensland hold the highest record for the biggest winning margin in a single game. They achieved this after defeating the Blues 52-6 in the decider of the 2015 series.

253 – The numbers of combined games of Origin experience the Maroons have lost following the retirement of Cameron Smith, Johnathan Thurston, Billy Slater, Cooper Cronk, Greg Inglis, Darius Boyd, Sam Thaiday and Nate Miles in last two years.
