Dragons poach four major premiership-winning Broncos

Reigning women's Dally M medallist Brittany Breayley leads a star-studded quartet confirmed to be leaving the Brisbane Broncos for St George Illawarra in a huge shake-up ahead of the 2019 NRL Holden Women's Premiership season. 

The Dragons announced the prized signatures of Breayley, Teuila Fotu-Moala, Maitua Feterika and Kimiora Nati in a squad boasting plenty of local talent.

The quartet were pivotal in the Broncos' premiership-winning campaign last season with Nati winning the Karyn Murphy medal for player of the match in the 2018 grand final victory.

"It's massive day for the St George Illawarra Dragons to be able to announce these signings," coach Daniel Lacey said.

"This plays into our vision with what we want to achieve as a club in the women's premiership.

"These signings will also add to our local juniors' development as well as an overall improvement and experience to our squad."

Breayley's signature is perhaps the biggest signing of all for the club. She was judged as the game's best player last season and is the incumbent Jillaroos No.9 and vice-captain of Queensland.

"Brittany is the best hooker in the game. She will bring plenty of hype to this team and push the entire squad in the right direction. Her record and achievements speak for themselves," Lacey said.

"There's no doubting she'll add several strings to our bow and change the way we approach games. We are very excited by what she'll bring to the team and I think she can get even better, which is a scary thought for opposition teams."

The additions of Fotu-Moala and Feterika complement a forward pack that boasts Jillaroos forwards Kezie Apps and Holli Wheeler.

New recruit Maddie Studdon is also expected to flourish by the recruitment of Nati in the halves.
