Experience and youth are highlights in the Brisbane Broncos' NRL Women's team announced today for the Nines tournament in Perth.

The Broncos today release a 16-player squad for the event that starts in the Western Australian capital a week from Friday.

Eleven players that have won an NRL Grand Final with the Broncos will be led out onto the field by two-time premiership captain Ali Brigginshaw.

That group will include the experience of Chelsea Baker, Rona Peters, Amber Hall, Annette Brander and Meg Ward.

Add 2020 Grand Final winners Tarryn Aiken, Chelsea Lenarduzzi, Raecene McGregor, Julia Robinson and Tamika Upton, and the Broncos have a solid base to build off.

Jessika Elliston, who was part of last year's NRLW squad, has also been named.

There is some new talent in the team too, with Jayme Fressard, Hayley Maddick, Tanika Marshall and Tahlulah Tillett to play their first games in a Broncos' jersey.

The Broncos will open their tournament by playing 2020 NRLW Grand Final opponents the Dragons next Friday.

They will then face the Warriors and Roosters on Saturday, with the top two teams to progress to the tournament final.

NRLW 2019 premiership-winning coach Kelvin Wright will again guide the team.
