It's not often a team posts six tries in a half and still walks off the field at full-time "filthy on themselves".

But that's how Michael Maguire said his Wests Tigers players felt having taken their foot off the pedal after being 34-0 up against the Cowboys last week. They held on for a 36-20 win.

They're out to produce the complete performance against the Bulldogs that Maguire has been demanding.

Canterbury come into the game off their second straight loss, but it wasn't for lack of effort. Under-pressure coach Dean Pay was proud of the grit his troops showed in going down 20-18 to Cronulla.

Team News

Bulldogs: Aiden Tolman will return, and start, after self-isolating following a COVID-19 scare. His return moves Renouf To'omaga back to the bench. Nick Meaney and Ofahiki Ogden were the two players left out an hour before kick-off.

Kerrod Holland replaces the suspended Christian Crichton in the backline and Jack Cogger joins the interchange. Sione Katoa and Lachlan Lewis were the players trimmed from the reserves list on Saturday. Canterbury have won their past three games against Wests Tigers.

Wests Tigers: Michael Maguire's team will start 1-17, with Benji Marshall and Chris Lawrence the final two players dropped from the squad. Tommy Talau replaces Robert Jennings (hamstring) on the wing, Oliver Clark replaces Zane Musgrove (foot) at prop and Matt Eisenhuth starts at lock for Alex Twal (knee), with Elijah Taylor joining the bench. Billy Walters and Reece Hoffman were omitted from the extended bench 24 hours before kick-off. Wests Tigers will play their 500th game since entering the NRL premiership in 2000.

Key Match-Up

Will Hopoate is the heartbeat of the Bulldogs and has been fantastic since moving back to fullback. His opposite No.1 this round is Adam Doueihi, who looks more comfortable by the week and always wants to improve.
