Broncos chairman Karl Morris says Anthony Seibold will remain the head coach until the end of the season but will then have his performance reviewed.
Morris spoke to media after emerging from the club's annual general meeting which was conducted online with shareholders.
While backing Seibold, who has a five-year-deal at the club, for the rest of 2020 the Broncos board will be wanting much improved on-field displays for the remaining 10 rounds.
"Anthony Seibold is our coach and will be until the end of the season," Morris said.
"Everyone at the club has a performance review and Anthony is an employee of the Broncos and will have a review like everyone else.
"He has got a long-term contract at the Broncos so we will wait until the end of the season."
Broncos legend and board member Darren Lockyer said he was losing sleep at night about the dire predicament of the club after he left the AGM at Red Hill.
While the AGM dealt with the strong financial position of the club, which included an operating profit of $4.5 million for January-December of 2019, there were questions from shareholders about the club's position in 14th place and the future of coach Seibold, with the scars of the 48-0 loss to Wests Tigers still raw.
Broncos unaware of reported Seibold ultimatum
Lockyer, who won four premierships in his stellar career as a player, said he was also personally hurt by the situation the club found itself in.
"You lose sleep at night," Lockyer said.
"It hurts but it is the reality and we've got to find a way to fix it.
"The AGM is about the financial performance of the company but there is always a lot of questions around the team's performance and the club's performance.
"This year with the results there was a lot of focus on the club and the team's performance."
The Broncos have been hit hard by injuries and Morris said he expected results to improve when some of the injured stars such as David Fifita returned to action.
"We have been really disappointed but as you all know we have a lot of players out and we are looking for better performances going forward. Seven or eight of our best players aren't on the field," Morris said.
"In the next few weeks we get them back on the field and I am sure there will be lot better performances.
"It is not a rebuild. It is terrible that we have so many players out. Our captain [Alex Glenn] is out, [David] Fifita is out, [Jack] Bird is out. There is a whole long list of people that are out and when they come back on the field I am sure we will have lot better performances."
The luxury of making wholesale changes isn't available for Seibold
Lockyer conceded that the pressure was building on more than just the board who made the decision to appoint Seibold.
"I think everyone at the club feels pressure right now because we are not happy with the performances we are putting on the field," Lockyer said.
"It is up to everyone at the club right from the top to the bottom to lift and get the performances that we are proud of.
"I think anyone that follows the game and the Broncos supporters in general would be very disappointed with the results and the big scorelines against the club. We are all very disappointed with that and it has got to be better."
