Manly lock Jake Trbojevic.

Player ratings for the Manly Sea Eagles team in their Telstra Premiership preliminary final clash with the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Suncorp Stadium.

1. Tom Trbojevic: Tried his best but it just wasn't happening for him. Dropped one try over the line when Manly were still in the contest and despite constant probing, was very well handled by Souths and came up with some rushed options in attack. Bagged a consolation try late to break Phil Blake's single-season record. 4.5/10

2. Jason Saab: Had a chance to stop both of the first two tries of the match, fumbling one kick and being beaten on the outside by Johnston for the second. Not much of a contribution out of yardage either with just 78 metres. 3

19. Moses Suli: A big handful with ball in hand and set up two consolation tries late but it was after the contest was gone. Prior to that was caught out a couple of times in defence, including for the game-breaking try right before halftime. 5

4. Morgan Harper: A poor option early to pass Saab into touch and no real contribution with the ball, making just 58 metres from seven carries to go with three missed tackles. 3

5. Reuben Garrick: Scored his team's first try and last try and added one other line break and topped the team metres with 222. Was also outjumped for Paulo's second-half try. 6.5

6. Kieran Foran: Produced some slick passes including in the lead-up to Garrick's first try but had no platform to work with for most of the game. 5.5

7. Daly Cherry-Evans: Did his best to kick his team out of trouble and was probably guilty of trying too hard at times, coming up with some critical first-half errors in a tough night at the office. 4.5

8. Josh Aloiai: Was sin-binned late although the game was gone by then. Not much impact with the ball, making 68 metres from eight runs. 4

9. Lachlan Croker: Racked up 51 tackles in just 60 minutes in a side starved of the ball, including a tremendous try-saver of Campbell Graham. 6

16. Sean Keppie: Was unfortunately concussed just five minutes in and played no further part in the match. N/A

11. Haumole Olakau'atu: Plenty of bruising carries when given a chance to wind up, nudging past 150 metres. There were also a couple of errors including a costly one early in the second half. 5.5

12. Josh Schuster: Produced a great early try-saver and threw a lovely pass for his team's first four-pointer and got through plenty of tackling. His team probably could have used some more metres with the ball but he was still one of his side's best. 6.5

13. Jake Trbojevic: Tackled himself to a standstill with 56 made in a tireless and desperate 80-minute performance. 7

10. Martin Taupau: On very early due to Keppie injury and had a HIA of his own after copping a knee but recovered to charge for over 100 metres. 5.5

14. Dylan Walker: Ended up playing over 50 minutes in the middle and brought plenty of energy with some big hits in defence and a few darts. 5.5

15. Karl Lawton: Game was over by the time he got on after 60 minutes, although he worked hard off the ball in that time including shutting down one Blake Taaffe attacking raid. 4

17. Taniela Paseka: Given just over 20 minutes but got through his runs and carries in that time. 4
