Wests Tigers co-captain James Tamou will miss the opening round of the season against Melbourne after taking an early guilty plea to a dangerous conduct charge arising from Friday night's pre-season trial against the Roosters.

Tamou was handed a grade two charge for taking out Sam Walker's legs as he tried to apply kick pressure in the 12th minute of the clash at Central Coast Stadium.

The other player charged out of Friday night was Roosters prop Lindsay Collins, who was playing his first match back after a knee reconstruction.

Collins fined for cannonball tackle

Collins was charged with grade one dangerous contact for a tackle on Wests Tigers playmaker Jackson Hastings in the 49th minute and accepted a $750 fine with an early guilty plea.

The only other charge arising from the seven pre-season trials over the weekend was Shark Braden Hamlin-Uele, who has been fined $1350 for an incident involving Bulldog Jake Averillo.
