Upton gets a second
Tamika Upton
The equal-top scorer in Mixer last week and the highest averaging WFB available this week by some distance. She made all the difference to the Knights in her return from injury in Finals Week 1 of the NRLW, with a brilliant showing on the field translating to 87 Mixer points. Upton scored 55 points against the Eels when she played them in the regular season, and has failed to score a try and run for over 200 metres just once in her four games this year. The classy fullback is the key weapon for Newcastle in attack and will be heavily involved in the decider.
Cleary kicks, Leniu collects
Nathan Cleary
Because why wouldn't you? Far and away the best HLF going around this week, with his 87.5 point average putting him well clear of the next best, Mitchell Moses, who averages 54.7 per game. The Penrith No.7 gets the bulk of his points from base stats, which last week included 585 kick metres, and he typically has very few demerits, so he's a great option as your NRL booster (who scores double points) too.
Tireless Taufa claims NRLW Player of the Round
Simaima Taufa
The workaholic co-captain of the Eels has been excellent on both sides of the ball in season 2022. Half of her six appearances this year have ended in Mixer scores over 60, including 79 in Gameweek 4 and a monster 94-point haul in the last round of the regular season. Taufa will have her hands full taking on Newcastle's formidable middle unit this week, which should mean plenty of base stats from tackles.
Papali'i crashes over
Isaiah Papali'i
If you have met your limit for NRLW players and can't fit Taufa in, then Papali'i is a great shout. He was Parramatta's leading scorer in Mixer in two of their three prior clashes with the Panthers this year, and hit 50 against them in Finals Week 1. Expect him to again rise to the occasion of facing Penrith's star-studded left edge.
