The Panthers have taken a dramatic fall ahead of the final round of the NRL Power Rankings after their 18-32 defeat to the Eels last Thursday.

In the box seat to claim back-to-back minor premierships and finish the season atop the NRL Power Rankings heading into Round 26, the Panthers disappointing defeat to their rivals Parramatta saw them drop three places into fourth ahead of the final round clash against the Cowboys.

Meanwhile, the Broncos have once again capitalised in the wake of Penrith's demise, having secured their place back on top of the rankings and also on top of the NRL ladder after recording their seventh straight victory in Canberra.

Meanwhile, the Sharks are the other big fallers for the week after going down to the Knights 18-6 at McDonald Jones Stadium on Sunday.

Cronulla's consecutive loss dropped them two places into seventh ahead of their crucial clash with the Raiders on Sunday.

Following back-to-back losses Ricky Stuart's side have slipped outside the top eight in the rankings heading into Round 27, despite still holding onto seventh place on the ladder.

South Sydney are now fighting for a place in the finals when they face the Roosters at Accor Stadium on Friday, who sit four places above them in sixth in the Power Rankings.
