NSW five-eighth Corban Baxter and Queensland halfback Zahara Temara have been charged by the match review committee over incidents in the opening State of Origin match at Suncorp Stadium.

Baxter was charged with Grade 1 Dangerous Contact for a late tackle on Temara after she kicked in the third minute of the match, while Temara was hit with the same charge for a tackle on player of the match Yasmin Clydesdale.

An early guilty plea will ensure both are free to play in Origin II in Newcastle on June 6, but Baxter and Temara face a one-match ban if they unsuccessfully challenge the charges at the judiciary.
