The two Las Vegas teams who were defeated in Round 1 will be looking to put their best foot forward when they go head-to-head at Suncorp Stadium.

The Broncos and Rabbitohs were favoured to win their respective opening matches and would have been disappointed in the manner of their losses, with 15 errors from Brisbane and five penalties conceded from the Bunnies proving costly.

The Broncos were forced to reshuffle their pack and rotation when Brendan Piakura was ruled out of the match after failing his HIA. He is set to return this week.

Skipper Adam Reynolds picked up a knock to the knee in Round 1 but he is in no doubt for Thursday's game at this stage.

Team News

Broncos: Brendan Piakura failed a HIA in Round 1 but the long turnaround has given him time to recover and he'll take his spot on the edge. Captain Adam Reynolds picked up a knock to his knee in Vegas but he'll be good to go. No changes when the side was finalised 60 minutes before kick-off.

Rabbitohs: Taane Milne will start on the wing in place of Jacob Gagai, while Shaquai Mitchell moves from the bench to the front row in a swap with Tallis Duncan. The loss of Jai Arrow to a shoulder injury brings Duncan into the side for his eighth NRL game. The full extent of Arrow's injury is not known but coach Jason Demetriou said on Wednesday that he was confident the Maroons star would play again in 2024. The last time these sides met at Suncorp in Round 9 last year the Rabbitohs racked up a 32-6 win over a Broncos side that had opened the season 7-1.
