State of Origin Late Mail: Game One

New South Wales v Queensland, Wednesday at Accor Stadium

New South Wales: All eyes on the fitness of halfback Nicho Hynes, who took part in training on Thursday. Hynes sat out the first training session with the NSW team while second-rower Liam Martin worked on his troublesome hamstring but returned to the group on Thursday – Hynes also doing some kicking in a positive sign for the Blues. Luke Keary and Mitch Barnett remain in the squad as standby for both Hynes and Martin as the pair continued to be assessed.

Queensland: Maroons hooker Harry Grant didn't feature in Queensland's first training session on Tuesday after reportedly feeling unwell. The Storm star was the only player missing from the side's first training run in Brisbane but is expected to return to the field with the team on Thursday, as the Maroons begin their traditional camp at Sanctuary Cove.
