Dearden named third youngest Paul Bowman Medallist

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys co-captain has tonight claimed his first Paul Bowman Medal at the club’s Presentation Night at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre.

The 23-year-old produced a phenomenal campaign in 2024 – his first as Cowboys skipper.

Dearden scored nine tries and assisted on a further 13 in 24 appearances.

The Mackay product produced a number of sensational individual performances, including a match-winning double in Magic Round and a six tackle-break and match-sealing try effort in the Elimination Final victory over the Knights.

Dearden was a runaway winner of the Paul Bowman Medal, finishing with 25 votes, with 2023 winner second on 13 and and Murray Taulagi third on 11.
